Book Update

Update I wanted to give you guys an update on what I'm currently reading and will be reading in the future. I am currently reading Red Sparrow by Jason Matthews  I am about 70 pages in at the moment and really liking it, to be honest, I should of read the blurb a bit better as I was very surprised by the content of the story. I had no idea how in-depth or detailed it would be and that's my fault. Besides that it has been really good, I enjoy the style of writing and the storyline so far. As for the future, I am planning on reading the Me Before You trilogy by Jojo Moyes, I recently found out it was a trilogy and got super excited. I had previously read the first book before and loved it, I am a bit nervous of how the other two book are going to go as I have read some reviews on the second book and they weren't all good but I haven't currently read anything on the third book, but I am overall excited.  After those four books, I'm not really sure what I'll...

Watercolour flowers

Watercolour Flowers For this post I wanted to share my recent watercolour work, I don't know a whole bunch about watercolour so I haven't done any major pieces of work. I mainly just experiment with techniques and colours.  Materials used: Watercolour paper Winsor & Newton half pan set (not sure of the specifics) Water brush As you can see from these two pieces I really like flowers, I experimented with the colours and the style of flower. I like the first page better then the second as I feel it is something I feel is more my 'style' of work, it's not perfect and it's kind of messy.  with the first page I drew the flowers out in pencil then went over that with watercolour, it helped with the messy effect and I really like the way that the shades of colour overlapped.  with the second page, I didn't draw out any lines I went straight in with the paint and didn't paint the inside of the flowers. I don't like the secon...

Zoo Photography

Zoo Photography  Today I went on a photography excursion to the zoo, so I decided to show you the photos I took. we weren't able to stay there for very long so I wasn't able to take a lot of photos. I really like taking macro photographs or photographs that have a big depth of field, this is why most of the photographs are like this. All these photos were taken on a Nikon DSLR by me and none of them have been edited. I hope you enjoy them, if you have any photography tips please let me know :)

The language of thorns book review

Image
The Language of Thorns  Midnight Tales and Dangerous magic  By Leigh Bardugo I really loved this book. The Language of Thorns is a book filled with a collection of short stories containing revenge, love, betrayal, and sacrifice.  My first impression of this book was that it was beautiful, I absolutely loved the illustrations on the inside of the book and the colorful text. the text and illustrations helped paint a better picture in my mind of the stories and emotions felt throughout. Previous to this book I had never read a collection of short stories before, to be honest, I didn't know how it was going to go. I wasn't sure how I would go switching between stories constantly, but I found it really easy. most of the stories were between 30-60 pages containing just the right amount of detail needed to be a successful story. all the stories were written wonderfully, I loved the use of magic and the imagery it produced. the only problem that I had with the book ...

Welcome Everyone!

Hello, everyone, my name is Maegan, I am currently a year 12 student studying subjects such as design and photography in Australia. I love reading, drawing, painting, and photography. This blog is going to be based on those four things, the main things that I will post will be tutorials and reviews. Because of school I will post once a week, but that may change in the future. I don't know where this blog will go, it is just a place for me to share the things that I learn and enjoy. I have never created a blog or anything like it before so there will be a learning curve that I will need to adjust to. I hope you enjoy what I have to share and I hope to hear from you in my next post. :)
